Baroque Studio Airbrushed Photography Backdrop – Gypsum

Baroque Studio’s Gypsum handpainted photography backdrop brings a subtle brightness to your work. It is a handpainted masterpiece that uses soft warm yellows to create an ethereal and refined look. Each backdrop is made to order as artisans spend dedicated time layering the finest art paints. It is built on high-quality cotton to achieve a gentle and smooth texture. Gypsum has light tones creating an open and expansive feel that is perfect for your shoot.

This background is unique as it is a combination of subtle gradients and smooth textures. It is crafted using the airbrushing process with industry-standard fine art paints. The careful craftsmanship behind each piece ensures that it is as unique as it is beautiful. It offers you a photography backdrop that blends artistry and professionalism. The background provides a polished look and allows the subject to shine while maintaining a perfect setup for shoots.

Photography Backdrop in Two Fabric Options

Gypsum is available in two material choices. Muslin is 165gsm and lightweight, perfectly portable. It comes folded in a box and you can take it to any location you need. And you can also easily stack and store it in your studio. Also, muslin’s flexibility is ideal for travel and quick setups. Muslin absorbs paint beautifully and gives you a light, feathery background to work with. The vibrant colours stay intact even after years of usage.

The canvas is 250gsm and it comes rolled on a sturdy cardboard core. The thicker fabric holds on to paints even better and gives a very gorgeous finish. This version also tends to crease less than usual as the paint is very thick. The canvas provides a lasting finish that holds up beautifully over time. Both fabrics are crafted to withstand frequent use and provide a reliable and professional backdrop for all types of shoots.

What do I use this handpainted background for?

Gypsum is a background with soft tones that make it a good neutral choice. The yellowish, beige colour gives you a lot of options to play with. You can create multiple different kinds of sets with this one backdrop. Its neutral tones make it great for fashion photography. As every colour you put against this background will stand out perfectly.

It is also ideal for portrait photography, newborn and maternity shoots as it has a soft vibe. You can elevate your lifestyle shoots and editorial work with Gypsum. It is a handpainted backdrop that brings brightness to each frame without taking attention from your subject.

Note:

Why colours may look different
Screen: Screens use RGB light to simulate colours, while physical materials use dyes and pigments. Screens or photography cannot perfectly reproduce a physical colour. Manufacturers also estimate a 15-20% variation across displays.
Lighting: We photograph all backdrops with 2 AriesX Xpress 600s, both mounted with AriesX Translucent Umbrellas pointed at the backdrop at 45 degrees. AriesX flashes have a spectral output closest to natural daylight in a controlled environment. We use this setup to achieve the most neutral, accurate colour rendering possible. The same product will look noticeably different under LED, tungsten, fluorescent or even daylight at different times of the day. If you want to recreate the website image, you will need to use the same lighting setup as us.
